Over Yan Peiming works of oil painting are huge black and white portraits, he has been surprised and be afraid at first sight. These characters have been painted faces out wildly and haphazardly, like mummies, like rubber or leather masks that had stretched and distorted in the S & M games, they seemed strange and weird, paradoxical and dark, angry, terrible, full of strength, as well as sadness.
Yan Pei Ming specializes in the creation of large-sized oil paintings, to create two-color paintings, most of his works are portraits in oil painting. His oil painting work have participated in the Venice Biennale and other major international art exhibitions.
On the night of February 11, 2009, held an exhibition Yan Peiming themed art "Mona Lisa's Funeral" in the Louvre, France. In this exhibition, Yan Peiming with a shade of gray, shaped-like projection, which held a funeral for the Mona Lisa. He reached the bottom mystic Mona Lisa lived in, dotted with numerous heads of skull. On both sides of the Mona Lisa is a self-portrait Yan Peiming, the lateral side of the face is withered aging father, who witnesses the death of his son.
The Chinese artist Yan Peiming is the first modern artist who is still alive and can perform a solo exhibition at the Louvre art.

1981-1986: studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dijon, France;

1993-1994: Studied at the College de France Rome, Italy;
1995-now: Acting as a professor of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Dijon, France.

During June 19 to October 11, 2009, Yan Pei Ming released their individual art exhibition themed "Landscape in Childhood" in Lawrence Centre for Contemporary Art in Beijing, with 34 large paintings children's portraits, he explained his understanding of poverty, hunger, inequality and war.
