Fused with colored pencils acrylic paint highlights seduces Schmidt forest organic quickening rhythms and decay, as thousands of hands made small insects, worms, snakes and bugs devour the scene. Reminiscent of Dürer's Great Lawn or Arcimboldo's composite figures, Schmidt drawing combines the beauty and horror in its beautification of phosphorus, creating a sense of admiration in his meticulous craftsmanship and allegorical.
