Interlochen dance program? Any experiences?
Or art school or summer program. I have 14 years, in 4th grade Cecchetti ballet (6 hours per week). I also studied modern (2 hours per week), I know it's a pretty big program there. I really, really, really love dancing. I hate my public high school and the type of people and cliques in it, and I think that an art school would be great (minus the price of U.S. $ 45,000 – yikes!). I love learning. I have been denied the opportunity to really learn and expand in the last 7 years old when I left my school based on Montessori (actually, I'm pissed I did not skip two grades in the transition to a public elementary school!). Do teachers / students / nice facilities? How welcome is the environment? I've heard great things on the program of classical ballet, contemporary, as well. Also, although I can not go this year, what is the summer program, as if you have state? Thanks in advance!
You should check out the thread at Interlochen in the Ballet Talk for Dancers: You http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=25682 It sounds as if you would be a good fit for the Academy of Arts.
