AS level Fine Arts: Artist links?
The topic I chose for my test is "social." I like to do something about the interaction human communities … whatever. Does anyone have any idea that artists could look? I am very fond of contemporary art, I love to Expressionism (I think Egon Schiele), I love Picasso's blue period paintings, Jenny Saville, Marlene Dumas … I think in that sense. Any artists that can address this issue before? Other areas of interest would be modern artworks that link to sexuality, sexual orientation, societies and communities … feminism, LGBT issues, etc. Any Input appreciated.
In sexuality – Hockney, Warhol, Francis Bacon all covered this topic at some point. I searched Google for "artists who use feminism as a theme, with many international links, so I advise you to do the same. There is a very disturbing picture of the Saatchi Collection – A self-portrait a means of trans-sexual-way through the series of operations to become a woman, but the name escapes me at this time.
