salary scale expectation for gallery work in Montreal?
Hello! My plan is to get to Montreal in about a year. Im Irish, and a varied background in the arts, I look forward to continue working in the environment of contemporary art … ie, galleries and museums. I am currently working in a museum and a gallery, so I do not think the experience will be a problem for me (I hope!). I am also learning French at the time .. so when will apply for jobs next year, I'll be speaking a little French at least. My main concern (or curiosity!) Now is to find out what kind of money or salary scale that I can expect to start work at a gallery in Montreal. I will be applying for jobs as assistant. Curater / administration asst. Obviously, I'm doing my part of the task in minutes, sussing whether or not I can wait to be scraped or live comfortably ….!! Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated! I survived. The great are not looking for help right now, but even then, the jobs you mentioned do not pay more $ 10 an hour.
